Restoring Hawaii’s Diverse Forest 8/21/23

On a visit to the Big Island of Hawaii I visited the Waikoloa Dry Forest Initiative. Their mission is to protect, promote, and restore native Hawaiian dry forest. Volunteers gather seeds from rare plants such as the Wiliwili tree, ‘Uhaloa, ‘A’ali’I, and Pua kala poppy.
